Duffy Leahy was skeptical when he first saw a link to the TRCP home page on the Internet. As someone who is inherently wary of groups claiming to care about the environment, Leahy checked out the organization and liked what he saw. The TRCP’s message resonated with Leahy, who has to travel out of state every time he wants to hunt rabbit and deer.
“In my state there are no facilities for people to get out and shoot anymore,” he said. “There’s not much of the environment left in California. … It has all vanished. The TRCP makes sure that we are aware of these issues.”
After discovering the TRCP website, Leahy signed up as a partner. He found that the TRCP’s online presence made speaking up for sportsmen’s rights easier than ever.
“I particularly like the pre-written letters to policy makers because I can personalize and send it right over my e-mail,” he said. “The TRCP makes it easy to get involved and be enthusiastic about supporting our rights. Plus, it’s free, it’s effective, and it’s interactive.”
